Our Founder’s Story
Zen Bloks® started long before there was a product. It began with GJ trying to solve a problem he faced every day while working on film sets, traveling, driving long distances, and spending late nights behind a camera or an editing desk. The strain from constant movement, hours of focus, and unpredictable schedules made one thing clear: comfort rarely lasts, and most products aren’t built for real life.
Instead of accepting quick fixes or mass-produced designs that collapsed within weeks, GJ started building his own prototypes. Foam blocks, hand-cut angles, and density experiments became part of his nightly routine. He tested every version on actual furniture, studio floors, and travel setups. Friends tried early samples in their homes, studios, and recovery spaces. What started as basic experimentation turned into a reliable system of structured support built for everyday balance.

As testing grew, so did the feedback. Wellness enthusiasts, tradespeople, spa practitioners, creatives, athletes, and people who needed a structured place to rest all shaped the direction of each design. Every detail—foam density, angle geometry, width, contour—was refined through real use, not theoretical charts.
Those iterations led to the first Zen Bloks® leg elevation pillow, a wedge engineered around balance and structure rather than softness alone. It also inspired the XL Gel Seat Cushion, created for people who spend long hours sitting and need support that stays consistent.
